Thailand's Energy Generating Authority (EGAT), the Thai Professional Qualifications Institute (TPQI), and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) have collaborated to create a comprehensive certification program for solar and wind energy professionals

Thailand Energy Generation Authority (EGAT) which has some heavy hitters to top the energy and renewable energy game, Thai Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI) and King Mongkut's University of Technology Together with Thonburi (KMUTT), raising the bar in the energy and renewable energy game. A project is under way to certify professionals on electricity from solar cells and wind power generation. Cool, right?
The grand beginning of this certification program took place on April 2, 2024, with Ms. Fana Supawakul, EGAT Assistant Governor leading the charge and was joined by some big guns, like Ms. Jullada Mejul of TPQI and Asst. From KMUTT’s School of Energy, Environment and Materials, Prof. This was a big deal, marking a significant step in consolidating Thailand’s energy landscape.
Ms Fana Supawakul was all about EGAT’s commitment to increase their staff and ensure they are top notch. They set up shop in 2021 and certified over 1,000 people in all disciplines of energy, and are now expanding into full-scale solar cells and wind energy!

And get this, it’s not just the energy landscape. This strategy is in line with larger national objectives, such as creating robust infrastructure and gaining some international recognition for our skills. Therefore, by ensuring that our workforce is top-notch, EGAT, TPQI and KMUTT are setting us up for a brighter, more sustainable future when it comes to energy in Thailand. It’s scary, isn’t it?
Moreover, this collaboration is not simply a game-changer in the energy industry; It is a testament to Thailand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. By establishing a strong certification framework for solar and wind energy operators, EGAT, TPQI and KMUTT are not only raising professional standards but also allowing Thailand to establish a global leader in renewable energy technical and know-how This concerted effort for economic development and environmental stewardship fits well with Thailand’s broader vision, reflecting a strategic thinking that promises a greener and more prosperous future for future generations to reveal.
