Hyundai Motor Group recently took a major step forward in its quest for sustainability by securing a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Matrix Renewables and the agreement includes the purchase of a megawatt solar power plant 147 from Matrix Renewables' Stillhouse solar project in Texas. The primary goal of this initiative is to power Hyundai's manufacturing plants in the United States, including the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia.

The expected impact of the mine is substantial, with carbon emissions expected to decrease by about 140,000 tones per year. This reduction is in line with Hyundai’s broader commitment to use renewable energy in its global manufacturing process.
