Government Introduces Solaris Scheme: Rebates Up to RM4,000 for Net Energy Metering Program
The government has introduced the Solaris Scheme, offering rebates of up to RM4,000 to encourage participation in the net energy metering (NEM) program. Find out more about this exciting initiative.

Prepare to harness the power of the sun through Malaysia's latest program, SolaRIS! This initiative focuses on making it easier for you to transition to solar energy by putting solar panels on your roof.
Minister Fadillah Yusof has just introduced Solaris, which aims to increase the household participation in the Net Energy Metering (NEM) program. What is NEM, you ask? It's essentially a way for you to generate your own electricity using solar panels and receive credits for any excess energy you produce.
If you sign up for SolaRIS beginning April 1st, you could be eligible for rebates of up to RM4,000! The government wants to provide you a small financial incentive to convert to solar electricity.
Focus here, these rebates are only available to the first people who apply, so you'll need to move quickly! To be eligible, you also need to have a Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) account. First come first serve basis.
Once you've signed up, it's time to get your solar panels installed. TNB will manage the rebate program and issue rebates once everything is up and running.
And, guess what? The government is even boosting 100 megawatts to the existing quota for the NEM scheme, making it easier for more people to participate.
Quota applications are open from April until December 31st, or until they run out. So, if you're thinking of switching to solar, now is the time!
To summarize, SolaRIS provides an exciting opportunity for homes to not only lower their carbon footprint but also contribute to Malaysia's overall objective of attaining a cleaner, greener future. Let us harness the power of the sun to pave the path for a more sustainable future.
