Petronas Stations to Shine with Solar Power Makeover

Solarvest Secures Contract to Install Solar Power Systems across 300 Petronas Stations

Your favorite Petronas pit spots are going to get a huge glow-up!

A momentous agreement was signed by Gentari Renewables, a Petronas subsidiary, and Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd, marking a significant step towards sustainable operations. Get ready for a paradigm change as more than 300 Petronas stations will get solar makeovers around Malaysia. This will be a big step towards an energy landscape that is more ecologically conscious.

The project, which will be completed in 2027, is to integrate 5.4 MWp of solar capacity throughout all Petronas stations in the country. It will begin in April. It's a calculated project with the potential to offset 5,035 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually upon full operationalisation, thus the goal goes beyond aesthetics.

"This partnership signifies the potential of solar energy to revolutionize conventional fuel operations," said Davis Chong Chun Shiong, the Executive Director and Group CEO of Solarvest, expressing his trust in the endeavor. We're honored to be a part of this important project that highlights how solar energy can help cut carbon emissions."

The program is a part of a larger trend in Southeast Asia where companies are actively looking for environmentally friendly energy options. Adopting solar PV systems is increasingly seen as a mark of corporate social responsibility, as evidenced by the rise in demand and revenue growth that Solarvest has seen.

As the globe watches Petronas stations transform into solar-powered hubs, this partnership is a big step in the direction of a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy future.
